FLC Group on May 16 had a meeting with the People's Committee of the central province of Nghe An on investing in a hospitality and entertainment complex, to be named FLC Nghe An, in Nghi Tien commune, Nghi Loc district. The two sides had reached an in-principle agreement on the project in the previous meeting at FLC Group's headquarters in Hanoi.

Participating in the working session were Nguyen Dac Vinh, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam's Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and representatives from provincial departments and Nghi Loc district.

FLC Group was represented by Le Thanh Vinh, General Director; Dang Tat Thang, Deputy General Director; Vu Dang Hai Yen, Deputy General Director; design and construction partners and representatives from the group's departments.

The FLC Nghe An complex is planned to be built on an area of 570 ha, at a total cost of 5 trillion dong ($220 million).

Prior to the meeting, FLC Group together with a provincial delegation made a fact-finding trip to Tien Phong and Hai Don beaches in Nghi Tien commune, Nghi Loc district.

Nghi Tien is located to the northeast of Nghi Loc district, 17km away from the district center, 19km from Cua Lo town and 25km from Dien Chau township.

The FLC Nghe An hospitality and entertainment complex is planned to be built on an area of 570 ha, at a total cost of 5 trillion dong ($220 million).

The project aims to build a coastal resort and entertainment complex that forms a highlight of architect and tourism service in Nghi Loc district in particular and Nghe An in general.

The project includes a five-star 1,000-room hotel, coastal resorts, luxury villas, a 1,500-seat international convention center, an entertainment compound, 18-to-36-hole golf course, and auxiliary infrastructure.

At the working session, Le Thanh Vinh, General Director of FLC Group, stated that the location gathers favorable conditions for the investment. To implement the project, FLC Group asked local authorities to form a steering committee for the project and hand over cleared site as soon as possible.

The group also asked the local government to invest in boundary infrastructure that connects the project, facilitate investment procedures, and support the investor in acquiring licenses at government agencies. FLC committed to start construction right after site is handed over.

Addressing the working session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien said that requirements for road, electricity and water infrastructure can be easily met. The hurdle lies in site clearance and resettlement.

The parties discussed resettlement measures while FLC urged the local government to soon announce planning for the project.

Concluding the meeting, Nguyen Xuan Duong, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly valued FLC Group's determination and asked the group to submit required papers to the local government by end-June this year so that construction on the project can be kicked off by the year-end and the project can be put into operation after two years.

The Nghe An government considered it a key project and pledged to create the best conditions for the investor to acquire necessary licenses and constantly support the investor to clear obstacles. A steering committee will be formed and headed by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien to support the project.

FLC Nghe An will be the seventh complex of the resort property chain developed and under development by FLC Group: FLC Samson, FLC Quy Nhon, FLC Vinh Phuc, FLC Ha Long, FLC Do Son and FLC Quang Binh. With the sizable project in Nghe An, FLC Group is expect to made a breakthrough in building a local tourism brand name for domestic and foreign tourists.
