CommunityONE Bank Names Commercial Banking Managers

Asheboro, NC - CommunityONE Bank has named Gayle Harris, Woody Washam and Kyle
Garrou as Commercial Banking Managers for the bank's western region.
"We are proud to have Gayle, Woody and Kyle leading our commercial banking efforts in the western part of our organization," commented Don Harrison, Commercial Banking Executive for CommunityONE. "This is an exciting time at CommunityONE and these individuals have the knowledge and experience to help us provide innovative business solutions to our commercial customers."
Harris, a resident of Iredell County, joined Bank of Granite in 2006 and has 38 years of banking experience. He received a bachelor's degree in economics from East Carolina University and completed the Graduate School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia. Throughout his career, Harris has maintained an active presence in the communities where he lives and works. He has served as a member of numerous Boards of Directors and in various other leadership positions for
non-profit and professional organizations throughout Alexander, Caldwell, Catawba and Iredell counties. In his new role as Commercial Banking Manager, Harris will lead a team of commercial bankers in Alexander and Catawba counties.
Washam joined CommunityONE in 2003 and has served in various leadership roles in commercial banking. He has almost 40 years of banking experience and received a bachelor's degree from Catawba College. Washam is an active leader in the Lake Norman community and has served in various leadership positions for such organizations as the Mooresville-South Iredell Economic Development Corporation, the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce, the Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber of Commerce, the South Iredell Community Development Corporation and Visit Lake Norman. He is also a Board Member and Past Chairman of the United Way of Central Carolinas for the Mooresville-Lake Norman area. Washam will lead the bank's commercial banking efforts in Gaston, Iredell and Mecklenburg counties.
Garrou, a resident of Caldwell County, joined the bank in 2011 and has 32 years of banking experience. He received a bachelor's degree from Western Carolina University and is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. Garrou previously served as President of the Education Foundation of Caldwell County and the Region E Development Corporation. Garrou will serve as Commercial Banking Manager for the bank's Northwestern Area including Ashe, Burke, Caldwell, Watauga and Wilkes counties.
FNB United Corp. is the parent company of CommunityONE Bank, N.A. and Bank of
Granite, which it acquired as a part of a larger transaction involving the acquisition of Bank of Granite Corporation in October 2011. As a component of the integration process, the named individuals will provide consumer banking leadership to both institutions until late summer of 2012 when, subject to regulatory approval, it is anticipated that the banks will be merged.
