Healthscope announced today that Dr Ziggy Switkowski AO has been appointed as a Non Executive Director of Healthscope Ltd with effect from 4 April 2016.
Healthscope Chairman, Ms Paula Dwyer, said in announcing his appointment to the Board, "Ziggy brings a wealth of senior business experience gained over many years working in large international corporations. His broad business acumen and depth of public company experience will complement the skill set of the Healthscope Board."
Dr Switkowski, 67, is Chairman of the Suncorp Group Limited and NBN Co Limited. He serves as a Non Executive Director of Tabcorp Holdings Ltd and Oil Search Ltd. He is Chancellor of RMIT University.
Dr Switkowski previously served as a Non Executive Director of Healthscope from January 2006 to October 2010.
He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Doctorate in Nuclear Physics. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences, the Australian Academy of Science and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
The Board has assessed Dr Switkowski to be an independent Non Executive Director.
