Herfy Food Services Co. reported earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2016. For the quarter, the company reported net profit of SAR 55,370,019 against SAR 45,221,363 for the same period a year ago. The increase of the net profit is mainly due to the decrease in cost of sales which due to decrease in raw material cost and other indirect cost with a bigger amount than the increase in selling & marketing expenses and general & administrative expenses, and the increase in sales which amounted to SAR 7.3 million with a percentage increase of 2.7%, despite having net other expenses for the fourth quarter of 2016 compared to net other revenue for the same quarter last year. Operational profit was SAR 57,934,389 against SAR 45,995,367 for the same period a year ago. Total sales amounted to SAR 280.2 million against SAR 272.9 million for the corresponding quarter of the previous year, with a percentage increase of 2.7%. For the full year, the company of net profit of SAR 217,496,120 or SAR 4.71 per share against SAR 202,681,713 or SAR 4.39 per share for the same period a year ago. The increase of the net profit is mainly due to the increase in sales which amounted to SAR 79.7 million with a percentage increase of 7.4% (caused by the new stores the company has opened), despite the increase in selling &marketing expenses and general & administrative expenses, and the increase in net other expenses. Operational profit was SAR 225,653,123 against SAR 208,080,499 for the same period a year ago. Total Sales amounted to SAR 1,156.7 million against SAR 1,077 million for same period last year 2015 with a percentage increase of 7.4%.
