ISAGEN WAS RATED 94.3 OUT OF 100 IN THE MEASUREMENT OF TRANSPARENCY FOR COLOMBIA

October 26, 2016

  • This year, the ninth Business Transparency Measurement (MTE) was conducted by the Corporación Transparencia por Colombia. This time a new methodology was used with 32 public utility companies that participated voluntarily.
  • ISAGEN has participated in every MTE edition with results that have always evidenced its high commitment with business transparency and a low risk level.
  • The average of participating companies in the energy and gas industry measurement was rated 73.9/100, 63% of which are above average and none of these companies were included in the very high risk tier (0 to 44 points).

This year ISAGEN reached a rating of 94.3/100 points. In each of the four components evaluated (Clear Rules, Opening, Dialogue and Control), the scores reached were above 90 points; hence, the Company has a low risk in every component.

This year a new and more demanding methodology was used, which is also an equally new base line that will foster improvement among the participating companies. This methodology emphasized on:

  • Anti-corruption compliance and active transparency.

  • High standard measurement, aligned with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, FCPA;

    UK Bribery Act; ISO 37001; PACI; Law 1778; Law 1712 and Country Code.

  • Compliance and alignment in terms of sustainability and initiatives as the Sustainable Development Goals, ODS; Global Compact; ISO 26000; GRI and Guias Colombia.

  • The comprehensive verification of formalization, implementation and practice management.

The CEO, Luis Fernando Rico Pinzón, expressed his satisfaction with the results obtained and stated that this rating and the new base line obtained "represent a relevant improvement challenge for ISAGEN and for all participating companies.

This challenge must be accepted with most seriousness and responsibility, considering that transparency and fight against corruption are significant challenge for every citizen and company in a historical moment when all Colombians are striving to build the so much desired Peace necessary in our country, where corruption is one of the major obstacles faced by society".

Improvement actions derived from this measurement contribute to the activities performed by ISAGEN within its Business Ethics System and, without any doubt, they also help to materialize ISAGEN's commitment of contributing to the achievement of Sustainable

Development Goals.
