Business Results for the First Quarter of Fiscal Year ending March 31, 2024

To all KIMOTO supporters,

Unfortunately, our consolidated business results for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024 (April 2023 to March 2024) failed to satisfy the expectations of everyone as the challenging situation persisted. However, despite the unpredictability of the situation, the volume of orders is gradually increasing and is on the road to recovery.

In the meantime, we were able to hold our annual shareholders' meeting on May 31 in a hybrid participatory format, either at the venue or online, which was attended by many KIMOTO fans again this year. We really appreciate all those who took time out of their busy schedules to attend and watch the meeting. We truly appreciate your participation.

Regarding topics for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, the film business is showing signs of a gradual recovery in the smartphone and automobile industries, which had been stagnant due to the global shortage of semiconductors, and orders are increasing mainly in East Asia and Europe. We will continue to strive for sales expansion activities while sharing information worldwide.

The Engineering Division has started a division of labor system by fundamentally reexamining the nature of its work with the goal of quadrupling the number of product launches. Based on the hypothesis that man-hours can be dramatically increased by dividing the development process between design and experimentation, we are now performing testing work at the factory, where multi-skilled workers are increasingly being employed. As a result of these efforts, the number of man-hours for design and experimentation has increased, and the hypothesis has been proven. We will continue to develop new products and technological innovations in manufacturing to continue enhancing productivity.

The Digital Twin Division has been working to contribute to the manufacturing and civil engineering industries by way of a digital transformation (DX). One such effort was the KIMOTO DX Seminar, a two-day seminar for new customers, one day each for the manufacturing and construction industries. Since the start of this year, we have held these seminars in Fukuoka, Osaka, and Sendai. This is the first paid seminar for the Company, and it is conducted in a face-to-face format. By making the seminars fee-based, our clients are able to participate with their own issues and we are able to talk about our past achievements with real-life examples, making the seminars meaningful for both parties. The seminar has also yielded positive results. We will continue to work on a variety of strategies to make positive contributions to our clients.
