Kintetsu World Express, Inc. is working toward carbon neutrality with 100% of power consumption by its sites and affiliated companies in Japan now effectively from renewable energy sources.

KWE has purchased FIT non-fossil fuel energy certificates (with tracking)*¹ totaling 29 million kWh, which will reduce our Scope 2 CO₂ emissions, that is, the greenhouse gases associated with our energy consumption, of approximately 11,600 tons*² in fiscal year 2022 to effectively zero.

KWE's material topics for sustainability include reducing CO₂ emissions and promoting green energy use, and we are moving ahead on setting emission reduction targets and planning specific initiatives for the KWE Group overall. We are committed to reducing CO₂ emissions both in Japan and worldwide in order to mitigate the environmental burden of our global business operations.

*Note 1 A certificate attesting to the environmental value of electricity generated from non-fossil fuel sources such as solar power, wind power, and biomass. Tracking information includes the identification of the type of energy source and the specific power plant.
*Note 2 CO2 emissions calculated from electricity consumed using rates provided by the electric power companies.
