Meeka Metals Limited reported the discovery of a new lode, the Wood lode, at St Anne's, part of the 100% owned Murchison Gold Project. St Anne's is hosted by a sequence of felsic volcaniclastics, mafic and sedimentary rocks. Until now, mineralisation has been targeted on the western side of the mafic unit, the contact between the mafic and felsic volcaniclastics, within a broad, sub-vertical north- south trending shear zone.

The newly discovered Wood lode is located 100m east of the Driver lode, on the contact between the mafic and sedimentary units, and dips shallowly to the east. Results from 16 shallow aircore holes targeting the Wood lode have been received with results including: 16m @ 3.48g/t Au from 48m including 8m @ 6.17g/t Au; 12m @ 2.48g/t Au from 76m including 8m @ 3.55g/t Au; 12m @ 1.38g/t Au from 88m including 4m @ 2.27g/t Au, 8m @ 1.38g/t Au from 36m; 4m @ 1.32g/t Au from 104m; 12m @ 1.13g/t Au from 80m; 8m @ 0.86g/t Au from 100m; 4m @ 0.80g/t Au from 36m; 12m @ 0.69g/t Au from 80m; 12m @ 0.60g/t Au from 100; 20m @ 0.57g/t Au from 24m. This drilling is the first to effectively test the rheological contact between the mafic and sedimentary rock units, and the Wood lode remains open to the north, south and at depth.

Assays are pending for a further 25 shallow strike extension holes and drilling remains ongoing. A diamond drill hole targeting the Wood lode in fresh rock is also underway to test primary mineralisation potential.
