Proprietary Copper Alloy MSP5Received 2021 Technology Award from the Japan Copper and Brass Association
Mitsubishi Materials' new alloy development received the 2021 Japan Copper and Brass Association Technology Award.
The Japan Copper and Brass Association Technology Award was established in FY1996 for the purpose of commending the developers of technologies that are put to practical use and significantly contribute to the advancement and improvement of the technological level of the copper and copper alloy industry, thus contributing to the promotion of the copper and copper alloy industry of Japan. This commendation recognizes that our proprietary copper alloy MSP5 developed in 2015 represents a new technology that has contributed to increased demand for copper and copper alloy products.
MSP5 boasts the highest level of strength-conductivity balance among copper alloys and features high stress relaxation resistance (resistance to a decrease in stress due to heat) as well as excellent formability. Full-scale mass production of the alloy started in April 2021, and it has been widely adopted especially for applications including small terminals and press-fit terminals used for automobiles, etc., and has gained positive feedback from many customers for its high performance and reliability.
We will continue to develop technologies that achieve high performance so that even more customers will use MSP5 in the future.
