BRISBANE, Calif. (AP) _ MyoKardia Inc. (MYOK) on Thursday reported a loss of $84.7 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Brisbane, California-based company said it had a loss of $1.60.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of $1.48 per share.

MyoKardia shares have more than tripled since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $224.40, nearly quadrupling in the last 12 months.
