Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) is in talks to sell its Brazilian power distributor company Enel Distribución Goias S.A. (Celg-D) in a deal that may reach $2 billion, three sources with knowledge of the matter said. Among companies interested in acquiring Celg-D, are Brazilian rivals CPFL Energia S.A. (BOVESPA:CPFE3), controlled by State Grid Corporation of China, Neoenergia S.A. (BOVESPA:NEOE3), controlled by Iberdrola, S.A. (BME:IBE) and EDP - Energias do Brasil S.A. (BOVESPA:ENBR3), in which EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. (ENXTLS:EDP) is the largest shareholder. Other suitors of Celg-D, valued at around BRL 10 billion ($2.14 billion) including debt, are Brazilian rivals Energisa S.A. (BOVESPA:ENGI3) and Equatorial Energia S.A. (BOVESPA:EQTL3).

Celg-D's equity value is around BRL 5 billion. Enel and Neoenergia declined to comment. CPFL, EDP Energias do Brasil, Equatorial and Energisa did not immediately reply to requests for comment.

Itaú Unibanco Holding S.A. (BOVESPA:ITUB4)'s investment banking unit is advising Enel.
