NUOVA BANCA DELLETRURIA E DEL LAZIO SPA START OF THE PROCESS FOR THE SELLING THE GOOD BANKS
Rome - January 19, 2016 - The process for valuating and selling the good banks has officially started today with the publication in leading Italian and international newspapers of the notice seeking expressions of interest in the sale of Nuova Cassa di risparmio di Ferrara S.p.A., Nuova Banca delle Marche S.p.A., Nuova Banca dell'Etruria e del Lazio S.p.A., and Nuova Cassa di risparmio di Chieti S.p.A..
The process, which will identify prospective buyers of the lenders, starts ahead of the original schedule of the end of January, accelerating the goals and plans announced in late November by the management of the New Banks. The expressions of interest shall be sent by 6.00 p.m. of January 25, 2016 to Société Générale in the manner described in the notice.
The results of consultations conducted before the submission of the expressions of interest indicate that the four banks represent an attractive target for prospective buyers and have considerable strategic value within their communities.
Consistently with the Good Banks' business goals, the sale will be conducted in a transparent and non-discriminatory manner in order to maximise the value of the assets of the four entities through a bidding process.
Preferably, the assets are to be sold together, but also separate offers for one or more of the Good Banks as well as strategic equity investments will be considered. The submission of offers for all four the Good Banks and the show of attention to the Local Communities will be considered favourably.
The Good Banks, which are strongly capitalised and have a robust presence in the economy of their communities, are slowly but steadily resuming full operations, as showed by the results achieved over the last few weeks in terms of new mortgages, over 3,600, and loans granted, over 10,500 - evidence of renewed trust from their customers.
