OD6 Metals identifies new clay-basins at Splinter Rock

OD6 Metals Ltd (ASX:OD6) MD Brett Hazelden tells Proactive the company is encouraged by the use of state-of-the-art modelling led by Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO, that reveals major extensions to clay-hosted rare earth element (REE) basins at the Splinter Rock REE Project in WA. The CSIRO has applied machine-learning technology and advanced 3D modelling to provide an enhanced interpretation of OD6’s Tempest Airborne Electromagnetic (AEM) survey data. This modelling, which compares well to existing drilling, has expanded clay basin areas at Splinter Rock.

Hazelden said: "With new clay-basins identified and more accurate estimates of our defined basin areas, the Splinter Rock clay REE is emergent as the pre-eminent clay REE project in Australia. We are particularly excited about the extensions to our existing prospects, but also the newly identified basins which significantly add to our already impressive scale.”

OD6 Metals Limited is an Australia-based company, which is engaged in pursuing exploration and development opportunities within the critical mineral sector. The Company is established to undertake exploration of its Splinter Rock Project and Grass Patch Project (Projects) that are located in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia and are prospective for rare earth elements (REEs). The Splinter Rock Project is approximately 2,579 square kilometers (km2) tenement package located 150 km northeast of Esperance, Western Australia, comprising six granted exploration licenses being E63/2115, E69/3904, E69/3905, E69/3907, E69/3893 and E69/3894. The Grass Patch Project is a 2,248 km2 tenement package located 30 km to 100 km north of Esperance, Western Australia, comprising four granted exploration licenses being E63/2151, E63/2152, E63/2185 and E63/2154. The Grass Patch Project's principal prospect is the Belgian Road prospect, which has a 6 km long Nd+Pr soil anomaly in calcrete.
