March 8 is International Women's Day, which was established to celebrate the leadership, strength and courage of women worldwide.

At onsemi, we recognize that the impactful contributions made by women in our industry are crucial to the innovation and success of our company. We continue to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the advancement of women at onsemi, as evidenced through multiple engagements:

  • Our very first employee resource group, WE, was established in 2014 and focuses on empowering and supporting women to succeed through professional development in business, strategic and financial acumen.
  • We have seen a positive trend of a 41.7% increase in global female directors and a 32.4% increase in female management promotions since 2019.
  • Forbes magazine recognized onsemi as being on the list of the World's Top Female Friendly Companies in 2021.
  • We continue to engage with women in technology organizations, such as the Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (WISET) foundation in Asia.

Although March 8 commemorates the celebration of International Women's Day, we understand that our commitment to the women not only at our company but within our industry is more than a one-day recognition.

This effort requires continued dedication and recognition of the value, expertise and importance of the growing number of women within science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)-related careers.

We truly believe when women are empowered, we are all better for it.

In honor of this commitment, we have partnered with our Foundation and set up giving opportunities for our employees to donate to programs that help empower women and assist women with achieving career success. These contributions will be matched as well.

Promising Future: #BreakTheBias

Each year The International Women's Day organization (IWD) structures a theme to celebrate, this year the theme is #BreakTheBias, which challenges participants to imagine a gender-equal world. Noting "A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together, we can forge women's equality. Collectively, we can all #BreakTheBias."

Whether intended or unconscious, the bias against women makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Recognizing that bias exists isn't enough, action is needed to level the playing field.

The IWD asks are you in? Will you actively call out gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping each time you see it?

Will you help break the bias?

In honor of IWD 2022, the organization is asking for you to Strike the IWD 2022 pose by crossing your arms in an "X" formation and via social media using the hashtag #BreakTheBias to encourage further people to commit to helping forge an inclusive world. You may also submit your image directly to IWD here.

onsemi recognizes and values the significant contributions of our employees, which is why we are dedicated to embracing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in everything we do.

We would love to hear from you, please reach out to us at DEI@onsemi.com for any DEI-related questions, comments, or concerns.
