PRESS-RELEASE

Implementation experience of pedagogical design elements when conducting intracorporate training in KATKoneft LLC

December 17, 2021, Moscow

In April, 2021, at the IV Research and Training Conference for Young Professionals of KATKoneft LLC, the "Corporate Education Environment" project was presented by the 1st Category Engineer-Technologist of the Design Department, Hydraulic Fracturing Treatment and New Technology Design Department - Yelagina Ya. E. According to the results of the conference, this project was awarded the 1st prize.

On October 12, the revised draft was presented in Moscow at the final part of the conference. According to the results of the conference, the project was recognized as a strategically important project for the Petro Welt Technologies LLC Group of Companies.

Pilot Project

According to the roadmap of the "Corporate Education Environment" project in 2021, it was determined to select a pilot project for the first stage of implementing modern elements of pedagogical design, which will allow changing the format of training itself with implementation of the preparatory part, the distance learning elements, including self-learning by watching the video lessons posted on the server and feedback elements after training. All this will allow to analyze the results, collect feedback and form suggestions for the project development passing to further automation of training in 2023-2024.

The intracorporate training course "Training Program on Meyer HFS (Hydraulic Fracturing Simulator)" was selected as the target pilot project. The program involved training of the leading HFS engineer fleets the basics of working on the HFS simulator, the technology of HFS designing and conducting the analysis of test injections in the course of the works.

According to the project presented, the methodological part is based on the "The Six Disciplines of Breakthrough Learning" methodology by Roy V. H. Pollock, Andrew McK. Jefferson and Calhoun W. Wick. According to the chosen methodology, all four phases of training should be considered during the planning process:

After summarizing the results of the conference, the specialists of the Department of Design, Design of Hydraulic Fracturing and New Technologies of KATKoneft LLC, jointly with the Director for Downhole Treatment (DT) of Petro Welt Technologies LLC Syrtlanov M. V., developed the first steps for the introduction of elements from 4 phases of training in 2021:

Phase 1: Preparation

Receiving applications from personnel interested in training, including not only the leading HFS engineers, but also other employees interested in this topic.

The overview presentation with a course roadmap with all stages, activities and deadlines, as well as a showcase of the module programme with topics and theses.

3 video lessons, a data package for test simulation and some additional materials were sent 5 days before the training for self-study.

Instruction on training and entrance testing.

Phase 2: Formal Training

Pre-assignment.

Collection of questions before training.

Final testing.

Phase 3: Transfer and Implementation

Performance Support - Introduction of Supervisory Control

First Steps

On November 18-19, 2021, Korolev M.G., the Deputy Head of the Department of Engineering and Design of Hydraulic Fracturing and New Technologies conducted a two-day training course "Training Program on Meyer HFS" in the distance learning format. Recorded meetings were posted on the corporate cloud storage, access to which was organized for all students.

At the end of the training, positive indicators were obtained:

Entrance testing

This graph shows the general trend of changes in results, but a change in the level of knowledge of a particular student. For more complete and reliable statistics, it is necessary to finalize the testing and organize the certification process.

The feedback from the course participants demonstrated a high interest in continuous training and a creation of an effective training system in 2022.

Future plans

Based on the results of the intracorporate training, the author of "Corporate Education Environment" project suggested the following steps to finalize the intracorporate training of leading HFS engineers in 2022:

Finalization of the training program for the leading HFS engineer fleets with the inclusion of new modules.

Transfer of the developed training program to the formats of well-designed presentations and video lessons and the creation of a library with training materials, providing a constant access for all students for self-study, which will provide the most effective training for personell.

Development of pre-assignments for the course, which will ensure the transfer of the acquired knowledge to practice and their further usage at work, as well as the formation of specific requests to the lecturer before the start of full-time training. Development of the effective entrance and final testing, as well as intermediate testing for self-assessment after each module.

Organization of full-time training in Nizhnevartovsk

Implementation of supervisory control for students at the preliminary stage of training (before the full- time format).

Creation and supervisory control of the project to create a community of specialists interested in training with periodic placement of materials for training, as well as holding periodic thematic discussion meetings outside the framework of the developed course, when requested by students.

KATKoneft LLC shows a strong interest in continuous development and training of its personnel and plans to continue actively developing modern methods of corporate training.
