Munich/Cologne, 19 April 2016 - The IT group CANCOM has launched a new type of marketplace for software applications from the cloud. The Marketplace was brought to life by the subsidiary PIRONET which also has overall responsibility for the BusinessCloud Marketplace. The Marketplace was brought to life by the subsidiary PIRONET, who also has the overall responsibility for the Marketplace. Via the BusinessCloud Marketplace, companies obtain business applications of the large software producers, such as Microsoft and Google, plus specialised applications from German software providers.

'Ever more companies want to obtain their applications flexibly as a service from the internet,' says Rudolf Hotter, COO of CANCOM. The problem until now has been that users employ different login data for each application, and the business apps have no connection to a company's existing application landscape. 'With our BusinessCloud Marketplace, we have now created the opportunity to procure applications at one location and then utilise applications by means of a single sign-on. Integration into our existing AHP Enterprise Cloud also enables users to access their existing applications and the new SaaS applications within a single workplace interface.'

Customers also profit from standard billing and standard contract management for their entire Software-as-a-Service environment. All applications can be tested free of charge for 30 days before they are purchased.

Large software producers already on board
'The Marketplace offers our customers the option of combining our cloud applications with the solution environments of the numerous specialised software producers, to procure these at one location and use them with the trusted consulting and support of CANCOM/PIRONET,' says Floris van Heijst, General Manager Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Partner Business at Microsoft.

'From the outset, we designed our entire application universe solely as Software-as-a-Service applications,' explains Thomas Davies, Director Worldwide Partner Management at Google. 'We are very pleased that these solutions can now be procured through one of the leading German cloud-providers - CANCOM/PIRONET.'

Expanding the network
In the coming weeks, the applications of numerous other software providers will be available in the BusinessCloud Marketplace. In addition, software producers who already belong to the Europe-wide initiative Cloud28+ (http://www.cloud28plus.eu) will obtain uncomplicated access to CANCOM/PIRONET's BusinessCloud Marketplace. Conversely, CANCOM/PIRONET also supports the simple publication of SaaS applications in the Cloud28+ catalogue. Heiko Meyer, Managing Director of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Germany: 'The Cloud28+ initiative, which brings together users, providers and other players via a central European cloud catalogue, is growing from day to day. Software providers who have already joined this initiative profit from simplified onboarding to CANCOM/PIRONET's BusinessCloud Marketplace.' The first software company to belong to the Cloud28+ initiative and whose products for Trusted E-Communications can already be found in the Marketplace is regify.
