SAO PAULO, Brazil (Aug. 27, 2013) - Alan Prowse, vice president and managing director, the Americas for Rockwell Collins, has been appointed as vice chair of the Defense-Security Task Force of the Brazil-U.S. Business Council (BUSBC).

"I'm honored to be appointed to this position and look forward to working with the BUSBC membership to strengthen ties between Brazil and the United States," said Prowse. "This provides a great opportunity to share our experience as a 40-year participant in Brazil's economy, as well as to be part of a recognized forum for promoting collaboration, education and technology exchange in the areas of defense and security."

As vice president and managing director, the Americas, Prowse is responsible for overseeing Rockwell Collins' business development efforts and operations in South and Central America, and Canada. He has more than 20 years of multifaceted experience at Rockwell Collins, having served in sales and marketing and program management in the company's Government Systems.

The BUSBC is a private sector organization focused on promoting the free flow of trade and investment between the United States and Brazil. Established in 1976, the BUSBC was created to foster understanding and advance business priorities between the two countries.

The U.S. Section of the BUSBC represents major U.S. companies invested in Brazil. It operates under the administrative aegis of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, maintaining independent policy formulation and membership. The Brazil Section of the BUSBC is managed by the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI), composed of the 27 Brazilian state-level federations of industry.

The unifying mission of the BUSBC is to protect, maintain, and advance trade and investment between the United States and Brazil through free trade, free market, and free enterprise.
