Further Strengthening of

Shinsei Bank Group's Sustainability Management Promotion System

Tokyo (Thursday, October 6, 2022) --- The Shinsei Bank Group ("the Group") endeavors to "achieve sustainability through business activities," as one of the core strategies of its medium-term plan - "the Shinsei Bank Group's Medium-Term Vision." Correspondingly, on June 15, 2022, the Group announced the "Shinsei Bank Group Sustainability Goals" and is working to achieve them. In order to ensure the realization of these strategies and goals, we have recently strengthened our sustainability management promotion system.

1. Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) / Sustainability Officer (SO) Newly Appointed

Hirofumi Kusakabe (Managing Executive Officer, Head of Group Structured Solutions of the Bank), who is in charge of our corporate business, serves as Chief Sustainability Officer. Takafumi Shimada (President and Representative Director for APLUS Co., Limited) and Tomoko Ogawara (Executive Officer, in charge of Retail Banking Business) serve as Sustainability Officers. We will work harder than ever to promote sustainability in both corporate and individual businesses.

2. Strengthening the Structure of the Group Sustainability Committee

The Group established the Group Sustainability Committee in January 2021 and has been working to build a sustainability promotion system. In order to further accelerate efforts to "achieve sustainability through business activities," we have significantly revised the structure of the committee, and the composition of the committee is centered around the business departments of each group company and the sustainability promotion organization. With the participation of departments in charge of risk, human resources, and corporate planning, we will continue to promote the responsibilities that should be fulfilled by us as a responsible financial institution, such as environmental and human rights risks, governance, and diversity.
