At Box World Tour Tokyo 2015, we announced that we were working with NTT Communications in Japan to jointly develop a 'Box over VPN' solution to enable content management and collaboration over a secure enterprise network. We're delighted to announce that from today Box over VPN will be available in Japan. It is powered by NTT Com and will combine NTT Com's enterprise network with Box's cloud collaboration and content management capabilities.

We're thrilled to partner with NTT Com to help create transformative software for Japanese businesses in every industry. This partnership will help more organizations to benefit from entirely new ways of working by elevating technology to enable secure collaboration and content management across geographical boundaries, while still meeting demands for robust control.

Following today's launch, NTT Com becomes Asia's first distributor of Box over VPN, enabling Box to be used on Arcstar Universal One, an enterprise network that delivers high security and reliability. This partnership opens up opportunities for Box to be deployed by a wider variety of organizations through the addition of a VPN service, which further enhances security. It also represents a key milestone for Box in Japan which enables us to begin working with even more regulated and security-conscious organizations, like government and financial institutions.

The solution will be distributed by NTT Com, the ICT solutions and international communication business within NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation), one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world, headquartered in Japan. NTT Com will enable Box over VPN through Arcstar Universal One, NTT Com's NFV-enabled, private network service available in 196 countries/regions.

Here's a quick reminder of the key features and benefits of Box over VPN:

Use Box over a closed network

With Box over VPN, customers with strict public cloud policies will be able to use Box without having any data pass through the Internet. Since data transmissions are completed over a network completely isolated from the Internet, even the most security-conscious industries will know their information is protected.

End-to-end, centralized maintenance system and agile troubleshooting

NTT Com will continually monitor the Box over VPN network so the service can deliver round-the-clock support and centralized maintenance.

Increased productivity through file collaboration

By integrating Box within the VPN, customers will benefit from greater productivity and even more security. Users can access their most important files securely on any device, and collaborate with colleagues without concerns about storage limitations, given Box's unlimited file capacity for enterprises.

Reducing costs in file management

By choosing Box, teams can be more productive and cost-efficient when sharing and collaborating on files of any size, on any device and from anywhere. This has traditionally been a challenge for organizations in Japan.

This is truly an exciting announcement and we're delighted to launch today with NTT Com in Japan. If you'd like to learn more about how Box is helping to transform businesses in Japan and around the globe, join us on June 9th for Box World Tour Tokyo.
