The European Union's regulations have led to electric vehicles reaching a 15% market share this year. Taking Norway as an example, we can see that these dynamics can be even greater when the environmental protection regulations become stricter.

In five years (between 2013 and 2018), the Norwegian electric vehicle market grew more than eight times (from 6% to almost a 50% market share). This is great news for SECO/WARWICK - the leader in CAB technology, a process used for manufacturing electric vehicle battery coolers. Yet another device of this type has been ordered by an international heat-exchanger manufacturer for its European plant.

The continuous atmosphere brazing line for battery coolers purchased by one of the leading global manufacturers of heat-exchangers is not the first order placed with the SECO/WARWICK Group. The CAB line will be used for mass production of large car battery coolers. The customer has placed multiple orders with SECO/WARWICK for CAB lines intended for brazing standard aluminum heat exchangers.

SECO/WARWICK's CAB line is distinguished by its uniform temperature distribution across the entire band width. Additional system innovations includethe unique design of the curtain section and cooling chambers, along with a special design to prevent deformation of long battery coolers. The entire design results from the cooperation between SECO/WARWICK and the largest automotive companies.

"This is not our first project for this manufacturer, although so far we have provided them with solutions for brazing standard heat exchangers. As far as CAB lines intended for the production of large vehicle battery coolers are concerned, we are certainly a first-choice supplier due to our extensive experience and the reputation of both of the company and our equipment. We deliver such solutions to the leading automotive corporations around the world. Cooperation with the largest companies, dynamic development of the market, the challenges of future technologies make innovations part of our DNA, and one of our key values thatcontinues to determine our growth" - said Piotr Skarbiński, Vice-President, Business Segment Aluminum Process and CAB, SECO/WARWICK Group.

The production of coolers for electric vehicle batteries grows exponentially as the global demand for electric vehicles increases. This is linked not only to the development of the technology, but also to the regularly introduced emission limitations.

SECO/WARWICK, one of the CAB-line leaders, works perfectly with the automotive industry, providing it with the solutions that enable the development of electric vehicle manufacturing methods.

According to the latest report of Canalys, an independent analytical company, the first half of 2021 has seen 2.6 million electric vehicles being sold, which is 160% more than during the same period in 2020. The number includes electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. This particular impact came from China and Europe. 1.1 million electric vehicles were sold in the first half of 2021 in China, constituting 12% of all personal vehicles sold there. In Europe, 1 million electric vehicles were sold - 15% of new vehicles. The sale of electric vehicles in these two markets made up in total 87% of all the sales of global electric vehicle.
