Atkins reselected as general engineering consultant for State Road and Tollway Authority in Georgia

ATLANTA, Ga., USA: Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, was reselected to provide general engineering consulting (GEC) services for the Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA). The contract terms are for up to five years under an on-call Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract not to exceed $15 million.

'Serving as SRTA's GEC provider since 2011, we understand what it takes to deliver SRTA's mobility objectives, and will continue to support their growth as a top provider of user-financed transportation,' said Brad Dennard, Atkins Department of Transportation Business Unit Director. 'With our years of experience in the local area and fresh perspectives from our global transportation experts, we'll help SRTA expand the Georgia Express Lanes network, improving traffic flow and allowing drivers to bypass congestion and experience more reliable trip times.'

Under the contract, the company will provide program and project management services during the planning, procurement, design, construction, implementation and operations phases for the existing and future toll lanes in metro Atlanta.

From tolling systems in the U.S. to smart motorways in the UK, the Company fully integrates engineering, design, technological and environmental capabilities to provide innovative approaches on projects that benefit the transportation systems serving commuters worldwide. Similar efforts in the U.S. have included supporting such clients as New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority Bridges & Tunnels, New Jersey Turnpike Authority, North Carolina Turnpike Authority, Florida Turnpike Enterprise, Tampa-Hillsborough County Expressway Authority, North Texas Tollway Authority and Texas Department of Transportation Toll Operations Division.
