PARK CITY, Utah, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- SpectrumDNA, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SPXA), a creator of high-engagement web and mobile applications, announced today that the Utah Science Technology and Research Initiative ("USTAR") has extended its license of Digital Uproar through February 2011. Digital Uproar is the online knowledge networking application created by SpectrumDNA for USTAR and Utah's digital media industry. Launched in March 2010 at USTAR's PushButton Summit, Digital Uproar (http://digitaluproar.com) is a private-label version of SpectrumDNA's integrated social marketing platform and API called PlanetTagger that allows users to post, share, and map information relevant only to their industry and company.

USTAR will be taking advantage of a number of recent product enhancements that SpectrumDNA released for the PlanetTagger product. Members of Utah's digital media community can network and share knowledge around locations, people and events either through the existing Digital Uproar web application, or through the new iPhone application that SpectrumDNA developed for PlanetTagger. In addition, SpectrumDNA created two new features for the web application - a job listing system and an enhanced organization component around which local businesses can showcase their brand and wares. The PlanetTagger platform allows for seamless registration via Facebook Connect as well as automatic and simultaneous updating of both Twitter and Facebook feeds, which enables members to push their posts into the broader social graph while curating them within a birds-of-a-feather niche community.

"Utah has one of the fastest growing digital media industries in the country," said Jim Banister, CEO of SpectrumDNA. "Digital Uproar is a place for the Utah digital media industry and its community to share related content and has created connective tissue between the disparate social media utilities--from Facebook to Twitter--being used by companies and individuals in Utah, as well as those individuals outside the state who are connected to the digital media industry in Utah. We're listening to the community and will continue adapting and adding the features and functions of Uproar to best serve them."
