The award was received by Mr. D K Singh (senior vice president) accompanied by Mr. Santosh Kumar Srivastava, Mr. Phani Appala and Ms. Shahana Mazumdar of HSE and Sustainability team, on behalf of the company from honourable chief minister of Odisha. Shri Naveen Patnaik conferred this award during the 19th edition of Enterprise Odisha, 2014, the largest trade fair of the state, jointly organized by confederation of Indian industry (CII) and the government of Odisha.
The company has won the award second time in a row, however, this year, it has jumped from third position to the first position. The objective of the award is to evaluate an organization's interest towards the well-being of its employees through adequate measures, not only for the regulatory requirements, but also as a part of the management's commitment towards ensuring that the workforce is completely protected through effective safety, health and environment measures.
The award is a recognition to Sesa Sterlite' s continuous effort to improvise its HSE and sustainability performances and in the recent past, the company has won critical acclaims at some of the most reputed forums of the country.
