Taiheiyo Cement selected for CDP Climate Change "A List" (highest rating) in recognition of our advanced environmental initiatives and transparency

Taiheiyo Cement Corporation (Head Office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; President: Masafumi Fushihara) has been selected as an "A List" company in 2022, the highest evaluation by CDP, for its leadership in transparency and performance in corporate sustainability related to climate change.

CDP, an international environmental NGO, evaluates companies annually in a detailed and independent manner and assigns A to D- scores based on demonstration of best practices related to environmental leadership, such as comprehensiveness of disclosures, awareness and management of environmental risks, and ambitious and meaningful target setting. In 2022, more than 680 institutional investors with wealth of more than US$130 trillion and 280 large purchasing companies with funding expenditures of US$6.4 trillion were requested to disclose data on environmental impacts, risks and opportunities through CDP platforms. A record of about 18,700 companies responded.

In 2022, 333 companies were selected for the A list, of which 91 were in Japan. Our Group makes full use of the world's leading cement manufacturing and environmental technologies to contribute to the circular economy and climate change countermeasures. This year, the Group received high marks for its ambitious targets set out in the "Carbon Neutral Strategy 2050", for its transparent disclosure of CO2 emissions throughout the supply chain, and for its efforts to strengthen governance including risk management against climate change.
