Tenaris delivered five ventilators to the health care authorities in the town of Pindamonhangaba, Brazil, where the company's Confab mill is located on May 11, 2020. At the same time, the local team led by Renato Catallini, President of Tenaris in Brazil, handed over 3,000 PFF2 masks, 300 face shields and 400 surgical overalls for frontline workers.

Procurement, logistics and transportation of the medical supplies were managed through the company's procurement team. In the global pandemic, local governments can struggle to procure much needed medical equipment on the open market due to lack of experience in managing complex supply chains. Tenaris has been leveraging its expertise and resources to assist local communities since the start of the COVID-19 crisis, as part of the community-based response strategy.

'Companies who know what is happening around the world are focused on investing in life-saving solutions,' shares Isael Domingues, Mayor of Pindamonhangaba. 'We would like to thank Tenaris for its awareness and actions,' referring to coordinated efforts by the company to reinforce the local health care system since early-April by delivering over 23,000 items of personal protective equipment and four vital signs monitors.

Tenaris also shared best practices and guidelines developed by the Humanitas Research Hospital with local medical professionals in Pindamonhangaba. Also part of the Techint Group, the Milan-based hospital has been at the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak in Italy and has valuable insights into both prevention and treatment of the disease.
