Tenet Southern States announced today that James E. Clements has been named chief executive officer of South Fulton Medical Center, a 338-bed acute care facility located in East Point, Ga. Clements was the hospital's interim CEO and had previously served as the hospital's chief financial officer for two years. Clements' appointment is effective October 30, 2006. He reports to William T. Moore, leader of Tenet's Atlanta market.

?James is an exceptional hospital leader and has a great deal of experience in hospital management and finance,? said Moore. ?He has a solid record of achievement within Tenet and at South Fulton Medical Center. He has established an excellent reputation within the community and among the hospital's medical staff. I believe his background is well suited for his new role as chief executive.?

Clements, 46, joined Tenet in 2001. He served as chief financial officer for Spalding Regional Medical Center and Sylvan Grove Hospital before joining South Fulton as its CFO in 2004. Previously, he was CFO of an international telecommunications company in Atlanta. He also worked in various financial roles at three other healthcare companies.

Clements holds a bachelor of business administration degree from Mercer University in Macon, Ga., and a master's degree in business administration from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
