Kenya Power has begun a countrywide campaign encouraging customers to register their account details to receive paperless bills via email and SMS alerts on news products and other customer services offered by the Company.

Speaking during the campaign kick-off in Nairobi, Acting Managing Director & CEO, Dr. Ben Chumo, said besides offering convenience to customers, the new service will among other benefits enable the Company to minimise expenditure on postage of over two million bills sent to post-paid customers every month, which amounts to about Shs.600 million annually.

This service will also enable the Company to send alerts a day before to customers who are due for disconnection for non-payment of bills, as well as update applicants for new power connections. The system will also be used to market new customer service products, he explained.

"We will continue to embrace technological solutions to enhance our operational efficiency and customer service.  Customer first is one of our core values hence the need to promote customer loyalty and deliver more value by increasing more avenues of pleasant interactions," said Dr. Chumo.

To register, customers are required to dial *551# on their mobile phones or fill in a form on the Company's website or send an email to register@kplc.co.ke.
