SCB and CSR partners mobilize 3,800 relief bags to those in need in flooded areas

Realizing the hardship of people hit by recent floods, Siam Commercial Bank's SCB Disaster Relief program, in cooperation with its CSR partners including the Royal Thai Armed Forces (RTARF); the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation; and network members in Sukhothai, Khon Kaen, and Chaiyaphum, has distributed 3,800 relief bags to flood victims in Nakhon Ratchasima, Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya, Sukhothai, Khon Kaen, and Chaiyaphum as emergency aid and morale support.

SCB First Executive Vice President, Head of the CSR Function Araya Phuphanich noted that, "SCB is concerned about people's hardship due to the recent floods hitting many areas in Thailand. We are committed to our role in caring for society and offering timely relief to flood victims. In cooperation with our strong network of CSR partners, the SCB Disaster Relief program has successfully mobilized 3,800 relief bags to flood victims. On this occasion, we would like to thank the following people for helping us distribute relief bags to flood victims in different areas:

  • Maj. Gen. Numphol Khongpun, the commander of the Region Five Development Office, Military Development Command, RTARF Headquarters, for leading mobile public disaster relief units in distributing relief bags to flood victims in Non Thai and Dan Khun Thot in Nakhon Ratchasima.
  • Sukhothai governor Mr. Viroon Pantawee, SCB Nakhon Sawan Area Manager Mr. Anupong Malihom, and SCB Sukhothai branch staff for distributing relief bags to flood victims in Amphoe Mueang Sukhothai.
  • The Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Prof. Dr. Anek Laothamatas and the Permanent Secretary Prof. Sirirurg Songsivilai, M.D. for leading a team to distribute relief bags to flood victims in Bang Ban in Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya.

Packed by SCB volunteers at the Head Office and branches in the affected areas, SCB relief bags contain rice, ready-to-eat meals, medicine, and other necessities to help alleviate the hardship of flood victims with a wish for their soonest recovery."

SCB is ready to offer help, relief, and morale support for flood victims, thanks to the strong unity of our CSR partnership network and the strong spirit of SCB volunteers. With great care, SCB hopes people can resume their normal lives as soon as possible.
