The Taganrog Boiler-Making Works "Krasny Kotelshchik" (TKZ) bought a Russian-manufactured automated measuring installation designed for incoming ultrasonic testing (UT) of the tubes/pipes received at the company. The new equipment can perform both flaw detection and thickness measurement.

The UT installation representing a complex of various facilities and arrangements intended for the UT will be operated in the incoming inspection area of "Krasny Kotelshchik". Specialized personnel will use the installation for non-destructive examination of small-diameter seamless tubes which will be further used in manufacture under different projects guaranteeing their quality.

The installation specially designed for TKZ was purchased within the framework of the investment program. It can be used for quality control of tubes/pipes made of ferrous metals and stainless steel from 22 to 89 mm in diameter with wall thickness from 3 up to 10 mm and length up to 12 m. Results of the quality control of those materials will be displayed on a touchscreen monitor in the form of diagrams and flaw patterns, as well as automatically recorded in a special software with a convenient interface which will provide an online reception of required data and effective work of control personnel.
