The Edufinet Project, promoted by Unicaja Banco and the Fundación Unicaja, participated this Tuesday, 28 November, in the fifteenth Graphic Arts Days, organized by the Malaga Confederation of Business Owners (CEM), where it offered a presentation on business financing aimed at professionals and business owners of this sector, as well as students and future entrepreneurs.

The aim of this talk, which took place at the Museo Carmen Thyssen in Malaga, is to teach this group the main financing and investment products and services for companies and the self-employed currently available on the market, as well as to inform them of the different entrepreneurial alternatives to help them start up their own business.

In addition to acquiring basic knowledge about financial education in order to manage their personal finances with a certain degree of autonomy, during this training session the participants were able to obtain an overview of the financial structure of a company and its relationship with the banking system. In this way, the aim is to provide these professionals with the necessary knowledge to know how to assess which products and services are best suited to their needs and, therefore, to decide which are most suitable for future entrepreneurship.

In this sense, during the presentation, given by José María Sánchez, collaborator of the Edufinet Project, issues related to the functioning of the financial system were addressed and it was explained, in an eminently practical way, the new banking products for the financing of investment projects such as leasing and renting, as well as others for the financing of the production cycle, working capital and management of collections and payments such as factoring and confirming.

Edufinet Project

Edufinet was launched at the end of 2007, although it began to be developed in 2005, within Unicaja, with the collaboration of the International University of Andalusia (UNIA) and the University of Malaga (UMA).

It is currently supported by 17 universities and more than a dozen business institutions and organizations. Since its beginnings, some two decades ago, almost 260,000 people have participated in the different seminars, workshops, courses and conferences it has organized. The Edufinet Project's web pages have so far registered more than 20 million accumulated visits, with access from almost 180 countries.

All this has made Unicaja, one of the pioneering entities in Spain to launch an initiative of this type, one of the most active agents in the fields of education and financial inclusion, in the exercise of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and commitment to society, both on the part of Unicaja Banco and the Fundación Unicaja.
