The power plant increased its electric power generation volumes by 85% in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period in the previous year, up to 4992.4 million kWh.

"We observed a steady increase in electric power consumption in Siberia in the first half of 2022 compared to the previous year", says Alexey Kiutsin, the Head of Retail Division at the Berezovskaya GRES. "And starting in February, generation volumes of hydro power plants in Siberia started to decrease as compared to the previous year. By mid-year, the Yenisei River saw the lowest water reserves and inflow levels, so the thermal power plants of the Krasnoyarsk Krai and Khakasia found themselves in high demand. Due to this, the Berezovskaya GRES operated more power units in

the first half of 2022 than in the previous year, and the plant did not stop its operation in summer, while usually the System Operator switches all the plant units to cold reserve come summer."

As a reminder, in the first half of 2022, Unipro PJSC's power plants generated 26.6 billion kWh of electric power, having increased this indicator by 17.1% year-on-year.
