The Supervisory Board of IT service provider adesso AG has appointed Dirk Pothen to the company's Executive Board. From October, the IT manager with a degree in business administration will be responsible for two adesso business areas and one of the Group's subsidiaries. The new Executive Board member has been appointed for three years.

Starting 1 October 2018, Dirk Pothen (51) will be joining the Executive Board of adesso AG - alongside the three Executive Board members Michael Kenfenheuer, Christoph Junge and Andreas Prenneis. The additional Executive Board position reflects the strong growth of the company, which operates internationally. The adesso Group now employs around 3,000 members of staff at 26 locations and has doubled its headcount in the last three years alone.

Dirk Pothen will be in charge of the Automotive business area and, from next year, for Manufacturing as well. Moreover, he will be taking on responsibility for the adesso subsidiary ARITHNEA GmbH, the Group's expert in digital business. With these latest personnel decisions, adesso is underscoring its aim of operating in close alignment with its customers and their needs in all areas.

Dirk Pothen most recently worked as Managing Director for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at SQS Software Quality Systems AG in Cologne. Before that, the certified bank clerk with a degree in business administration spent fifteen years working in different management roles at Atos, T-Systems and Detusche Telekom.

Prof Dr Volker Gruhn, Supervisory Board Chairman and co-founder of adesso AG, explains the decision to expand the Executive Board: 'Distributing tasks between four people now instead of three on the Executive Board will help us keep our promise of being as close as possible to the customer, even in senior management. With Dirk Pothen, we have gained an experienced IT manager who knows our business very well and also shares our values.'
