DERIDDER, La., April 1, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AMERISAFE, Inc. (Nasdaq:AMSF) a specialty provider of hazardous workers' compensation insurance, today announced that G. Janelle Frost, currently the Company's Chief Financial Officer, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer, effective May 15, 2013. Ms. Frost joined AMERISAFE in 1992, and has been CFO since November 2008.
The Company also announced that Michael Grasher will become Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Grasher is currently SVP, Capital Markets and Investor Relations of Fortegra Financial Corporation, a NYSE listed insurance services company. Mr. Grasher is expected to join the Company in May 2013.
In addition, the Company announced that Geoff Banta, currently AMERISAFE's President and COO, has advised the Company that he intends to retire in December 2014. Mr. Banta joined the Company in 2003, and served as CFO during the Company's initial public offering in 2005 as well as the Company's secondary offering in 2006.
