AusNet Services is inviting Chiltern residents and businesses to attend a Community Energy Forum on Tuesday 14 August.

AusNet Services owns and operates the electricity distribution network across the north and east of Victoria, and is keen to hear from members of the Chiltern community about the energy issues that matter to them. The company would also like to hear from the community about its plans to ensure safe and reliable electricity supply.

The views of local residents and businesses will contribute to the formal process to ensure that customers are central to determining the type of services and solutions the company invests in and, importantly, how much they cost.

This process is overseen by the Australian Energy Regulator.

As part of the formal process, AusNet Services has established a Customer Forum as a new trial to enhance the representation of customers' views. The Customer Forum comprises a group of skilled, qualified individuals appointed to formally represent the perspectives of AusNet Services customers.

The Customer Forum is led by ex-Consumer Affairs Minister for Victoria, Tony Robinson, and will engage with AusNet Services to help their plans to deliver the services that customers most value.

Speaking about the Chiltern Forum, Tony Robinson said, "We are very excited to hear what Chiltern residents and businesses have to say about electricity supply in their community. This will be a great opportunity for the community to share their experiences and ideas about energy and what matters most to them".

"Taking part in the Community Energy Forum will help local residents and businesses to shape the electricity network in future years" Tony said.

Representatives from AusNet Services will present some of the specific plans for Chiltern, in particular aimed at improving supply reliability in the area.

AusNet Services is pleased to make a donation in support of Chiltern Primary School, where the Community Energy Forum will be held.
