CALGARY, ALBERTA (July 22, 2019) - Baytex Energy Corp. ("Baytex") (TSX, NYSE: BTE) provides a statement following a leak identified southeast of Peace River, Alberta.

On Wednesday, July 17, 2019, Baytex identified a leak from a small diameter pipeline at an active location approximately 36 km southeast of Peace River, Alberta. Approximately 100m3 of produced water was released. The cause of this incident is being investigated.

The Baytex emergency response plan was immediately implemented, release has been contained and significant cleanup progress has been made. There have been no injuries, or impacts to waterbodies or wildlife resulting from this incident.
