Scott+Scott is investigating whether members of the CBS Board made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (i) CBS executives, including the Company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Leslie "Les" Moonves, had engaged in widespread workplace sexual harassment at CBS; (ii) CBS's enforcement of its own purported policies was inadequate to prevent the foregoing conduct; (iii) the foregoing conduct, when revealed, would foreseeably subject CBS to heightened legal liability and impede the ability of key CBS personnel to execute the Company's business strategy; and (iv) as a result, CBS's public statements were materially false and misleading at all relevant times.

In July 2018, The New Yorker published an article by Ronan Farrow saying that six women had accused Moonves of harassment and intimidation, and dozens more had described abuse at CBS.  In September 2018, The New Yorker reported that six additional women (in addition to the six original women reported in July) had raised accusations against Moonves, going back to the 1980s. After further allegations against Moonves came to light over the ensuing weeks, CBS announced that Moonves would not receive his $120 million severance package.  CBS also announced that its anti-harassment and other personnel policies were not as robust as those at other companies.
