Delta TechOps has been voted 'Best Engine Repair' in the 11th annual The145.com Top Shop Awards, marking the sixth consecutive year the airline's Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul division has won a Top Shop Award.

As one of the most coveted aviation maintenance awards in the world, Top Shop awards recognize companies that deliver excellent customer support, quick turnaround times and superior workmanship.

'It's an honor to be recognized not only as a Top Shop by our peers, but as the Best Engine Repair,' said Don Mitacek, S.V.P. - TechOps. 'This simply wouldn't be possible without our incredibly talented and highly skilled team of Delta TechOps aircraft maintenance technicians and engineers. Our people, coupled with major investments in our new state-of-the-art engine shop, world's largest jet engine test cell and new hot section repair shop, will continue to allow employees to provide unparalleled service to customers.'

Winners are nominated and selected by their peers - and with more than 7,800 nominations in 22 repair categories, this year's selection process was the most competitive yet.

'The Top Shop Awards honor companies who lead by example and strive to deliver results that are a cut above the rest,' said Justin Spaulding, President of The145.com. 'It's about the dedicated professionals that really care about innovation and improving our industry and the hard workers who go the extra mile.'

As the largest aviation maintenance group in North America, Delta TechOps' highly skilled workforce of over 10,000 technicians, engineers and other support employees provide full-service maintenance to more than 850 Delta aircraft and their engines as well as maintenance services to more than 150 other operators, cargo operators and the Military & Government, through the airline's Maintenance Repair and Overhaul business.

Through expanded capabilities and new facilities, Delta expects to grow the top line of the MRO business by $1 billion a year over the next five years.

The145.com is the aviation industry's largest repair focused marketplace. The database has over 3 million repair capabilities listed, from over 500 repair centers worldwide and industry average cost data to overhaul, repair and test rotable components. In late 2017, The145.com launched a reverse auction inventory system that was co-developed with help of several airlines, suppliers and repair centers. Recently, they released a new Marketplace allowing companies to advertise items for sale, items wanted, labs, jobs, as well as a complete shop services section.
