CHICAGO (AP) _ Hill-Rom Holdings Inc. (HRC) on Friday reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $93.9 million.

The Chicago-based company said it had profit of $1.40 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.95 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.44 per share.

The medical equipment maker posted revenue of $767.5 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $738.2 million.

Hill-Rom shares have risen almost 2% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased slightly more than 7% in the last 12 months.
