Korres Group continued to grow in Q1 2016. Both consolidated sales and operating profitability improved significantly.
Consolidated sales increased by 5%, to 17,7m euro in Q1 2016 from 16,9m euro in Q1 2015, as a result of the positive performance of the brand both in Greece and its global priority markets.
International markets Sales Growth was 7% in Q1 2016 compared to Q1 2015. Key growth drivers were the priority markets- US, UK, Germany, and Norway- with 24% growth in Sales
Sales Growth in Greece reached 4%- compared to Q1 2015, confirming the successful communication and promotion plan of the Group.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) improved to 4,5m euro from 4,4m euro in Q1 2015, as a result of the positive Group performance.
Net profits after tax and minority rights increased by 29% reaching 2,0m euro in Q1 2016 from 1,5m euro in Q1 2015.
In Greece, Korres Group continued promoting its brand in Q1 2016 by further enhancing its strategic product categories with new innovative products, based on specialized natural ingredients focusing on Greek herbs, research, science, advanced technology and clinically tested efficacy.
In this context, 2016 kicked off with a new global innovation in antiageing by KORRES; the new Castanea Arcadia collection. The largest research on world's natural ingredients - a Greek scientists' initiative led by KORRES and the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Athens - highlighted Castanea (Arcadian Chestnut tree) as one of the top performing antioxidant plants worldwide, leading to an innovative antiwrinkle molecule developed by KORRES Lab, based on the potent antiageing power of pure lupeol for the first time in cosmetics. With regards to hair colorants, a category of strategic importance to KORRES; the Abyssinia Superior Gloss Colorant with the exclusive Pigment-lock technology is the most recent addition to the brand's portfolio, following on from the successful launch of Argan Oil Advanced Colorant. Additionally, new launches under the suncare category focused on the new generation Red Grape suncare and kids sun protection.
International sales growth will continue to be the Group's primary 2016 goal, focusing in the US -the second largest market for KORRES, following Greece - and in key European markets - UK, Germany, Norway-.
Latin America where KORRES products were launched in Q2 2015 within the context of the strategic agreement with AVON, is a market with great potential for KORRES brand in the future.
