Hospital da Luz at Estoril Open: Fifth Year and More Praises

For the fifth consecutive year, Hospital da Luz ensured the medical assistance during Millennium Estoril Open, the tennis tournament taking place between April 27 and May 6, at Clube de Ténis do Estoril.

After the nine days of the competition and similarly to the four previous editions, the medical assistance provided by the 21 health professionals from Hospital da Luz was highly appraised the ATP coordinators (Association of Tennis Professionals), the entity organizing the world circuit of professional tennis tournaments.

Official Medical Service Partner of this tournament since 2015, Hospital da Luz installed a medical centre in the precinct, with a team (part of which in the photo above) dividing its medical activity between two poles: one destined to the general public, counting with a physician and a nurse, during the precinct operating hours, and a second one destined to players, permanently supported by physiotherapists and masseurs and a specialist in Sports Medicine.

Globally, besides the constant work of preparation and muscle recovery for the 30 tennis players in competition, the centre destined to the public assisted about 200 people, during the competition.

Millennium Estoril Open 2019 edition was won by the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, who defeated the Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas by 6-3 and 7-6.
