Notice Concerning Dividend for the First Half of Fiscal 2017

Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation ("the Company") announces that at the Board of Directors of the Company held on October 27, 2017, the Board passed a resolution to pay the half year-end dividend as follows.

2. Reason

Based on the Company's increase of profit since the announcement of the previous earnings forecasts and results for the first quarter on July 28, 2017, the Company has decided to increase the planned dividend by ¥5 and also distribute the dividend at the end of the first half payment of ¥30 per share, representing a consolidated payout ratio of 26.7%, in accordance with the basic profit distribution policy described previously announced.
