'As a responsible company, we want to make a positive contribution to the regions and local communities in which we operate,'says Dr. Michael Schneider, CFO of NORMA Group.'This is why we also put our corporate responsibility into practice on our annual NORMA Help Day, actively supporting social projects and facilities at our sites around the world.'

Commitments on Volunteer Day

Employees in California and China were committed to environmental protection and cleaned parks and green areas, for example. Other sites are supporting kindergartens, orphanages and facilities for those with disabilities.

At the company's headquarters in Maintal, employees were active in four projects: they repaired bicycles for a youth club, took a trip with residents of a senior citizens' facility, got involved in an afternoon of play at a daycare center and helped redesign a community garden.

Monika Böttcher, Mayor of Maintal, praised the volunteers' commitment during a visit: 'I would like to thank the employees of NORMA Group most sincerely for their repeated energetic commitment. This shows that they feel a connection with Maintal. Our society needs more such positive role models. When many hands are at work, great progress can be made in just one day.'

The international NORMA Help Day took place for the fourth time this year.
