RPC GROUP PLC The mammoth trail combined steep forest inclines, tricky technical descents, rocky paths and challenging single tracks to create one of Europe's biggest charity mountain bike events.
Taking part in the punishing ride were Ann Hadley, Chris Duffy and Owen Pritchard from the Berry bpi Worcester site, and Gareth Lloyd and Rebecca Skade from the Bromborough site. Owen had previously registered for the event in 2018, but ironically had to postpone due to suffering a heart attack himself. Having made a full recovery, the choice of charity was clear, and 'team bpi' used their love for mountain biking to take raise money for this worthy cause and importantly acknowledge the friends, family and colleagues who have suffered from heart issues.
Rebecca Skade, Finance Director at Berry bpi said, 'Sadly, at some point we will all know someone who has been affected by a cardiac event, that's why we all had to be involved.'
She continued, 'Even for experienced riders this was a tough challenge, so not only are we proud to have finished, we're also incredibly thankful to all those who have donated and helped us smash our fundraising target.'
The business donated £1,000 to the team, who originally targeted to raise £2,000 for the BHF. To date the total stands at an amazing £3,300 and donations can continue to be made on the team's Just Giving page at; www.justgiving.com/companyteams/Mountain-Mongrels
