Taylor Wimpey : We teach pupils about health and safety

Pupils from Sellindge Primary School have learned a valuable lesson in how to stay safe following a visit to our The Lees development in Sellindge. On Wednesday 6th November, 60 children from the school were invited to The Lees and given a talk by Phil Laycock and Tom Church from our South East team about the dangers posed by open spaces and ponds.

Our mascots, Millie Mortar and Handy Andy, were in attendance to interact with the children who received goody bags which included colouring packs, walk to school wristbands and stationary.

Commenting on the visit, Jo Wren, Headteacher at Sellindge Primary School, said: 'We are very grateful to Taylor Wimpey for taking the time to talk to our pupils about something that really matters. Phil did a great job of giving such a fun and engaging talk which highlighted the dangers posed by open water and the surrounding areas of the development. He really helped the children to understand the importance of staying safe.'

Phil Laycock said: 'Children are naturally interested in finding out how we build our new homes and how we adapt the surrounding land but it is important that they are aware of the dangers around such open spaces. It was our pleasure to talk to the pupils at Sellindge Primary School and hope that our talk gave them a valuable lesson in staying safe.'
