Basingstoke -- Tech Data is bringing together members of its Healthcare and Life Sciences virtually this week to discuss the challenges that organisations will face as they begin returning to the workplace, and what apps and services will be required to ensure that risks to employees are minimised.

The 'Returning to the workplace Tech Data Ecosystem Showcase will take place on Wednesday 13 May at 2.00pm. Any IT supplier or organisation involved in the healthcare and life sciences sectors will be welcome to attend.

Neil Cornish, Ecosystems Lead, UK, Tech Data Advanced Solutions, stated: With the Covid-19 pandemic affecting everyone and everything in our lives at the moment, it is ever-more important to understand what technology is available to help us get back into the workplace. This one hour showcase will draw attention to some of the key COVID-19 solution providers that Tech Data has been working with and who have solutions that may help organisations return to the workplace in a way that is both pragmatic and safe for their employees.

Four short presentations will be given during the one-hour event:

* Dr Phil Webb, Associate Director of Planning, Performance and Innovation at Velindre NHS University Trust (https://channelstar.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=cb64b975bf45371e740fe24cc&id=13422ea9ef&e=244bc0ef58) , will present details of the new COVID19 Chatbot, which builds on the work done with the RITTA Cancer Chabot IBM, using Watson AI to deliver a COVID19 Chatbot with over 60 intents and conversations.

* Holger Mannweiler, CEO of Safectory (https://channelstar.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=cb64b975bf45371e740fe24cc&id=2c098406fd&e=244bc0ef58) will demonstrate the companys fast-to-deploy, self-contained, social distancing alerting system with full track and traceability of interactions for organisations.

* Dacha (https://channelstar.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=cb64b975bf45371e740fe24cc&id=4fca53d409&e=244bc0ef58) and Orbnet Systems (https://channelstar.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=cb64b975bf45371e740fe24cc&id=c4db05d0d2&e=244bc0ef58) will give a presentation of how of AI-enabled video solutions can be used to protect people as they return to the workplace.

All these organisations are part of Tech Datas Healthcare and Life Sciences ecosystem, which has now been running for around six months. The initiative brings together organisations and groups with complementary skills, providing them with a platform for the formation of new development and business partnerships.

More than 100 companies have taken part in workshops and meetings and numerous alliances formed to develop many different kinds of solutions. Dialogue and activity has accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic with various parties coming together to find solutions that will help organisations of all kinds get back to work.

IBM has been a keen supporter and advocate of the ecosystem and many of the new solutions are utilising IBMs PowerAI Vision and Watson Administrative Assistant as their development platforms.
