The firm is an investment management division of Capital One N.A. and their ultimate parent is Capital One Financial Corp. (NYSE: COF). They were formerly known as Hibernia Asset Management LLC and were a subsidiary of Hibernia National Bank. COAM's only client is Capital One, N.A. The firm advises Capital One N.A. in managing the assets the bank holds as a fiduciary in its trust and investment management accounts. COAM’s services to the bank include investment policy and asset allocation advice, as well as managing financial asset portfolios.
