Geoffrey Souter

Mr. Geoffrey Souter is a Managing Director & Head of Real Assets Credit at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.
He currently leads the Real Assets Credit group after helping develop and implement the private real estate debt strategy.
He has helped lead our investments in a broad range of real estate debt products, including mortgage, mezzanine and preferred equity loans secured by high-quality real estate assets in markets across the Americas, Europe and Asia, while selectively evaluating expansion into new markets.
Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2010, he spent four years at RBS Greenwich Capital and was a board member of RBS’s Global Real Estate Finance Group, responsible for its U.S.
debt portfolio.
Previously, he worked at JPMorgan in real estate finance-related roles in New York and London, departing as head of real estate capital markets.
He holds a BA (Hons) in Urban Development from Western University and an MA in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.
