Henry Chung

Henry Chung joined Hyundai as Senior Vice President in 2020 and leads the flagship CRADLE Silicon Valley office that supports all of Hyundai Motor Group by leveraging all open innovation tools, including venture investment.
Prior to joining Hyundai, Henry was at LG Electronics for 10 years as part of the CIO and CTO organizations where he was responsible for leading venture capital investment in North America and engaging in open innovation activities with startups, and also was instrumental in the creation of LG Ventures.
Before joining LG, Henry spent 4 years as a director of SVB Capital’s direct investment team, broadly investing from two funds in technology areas that spanned IT hardware, Internet, cleantech and life sciences.
Prior to SVB Capital, Henry was Vice President at Newforth Partners – an M&A advisory firm now part of Woodside Capital Partners.
In addition to these roles, Henry was a founding partner of Imagicians Interactive, a Boston-based interactive agency that eventually was acquired by a traditional advertising agency, and he has also spent significant time as a management consultant with Fletcher Spaght – a boutique strategy consulting firm.
Henry has also worked as a computer programmer developing system dynamics models at MITRE, and as a DNA researcher at the National Institutes of Health.
Henry graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning both S.B.
and M.Eng degrees in Electrical Engineering, with premedical and acoustics specialization.
Henry is a native of Virginia, who lived for 13 years in Boston and has resided in the Bay Area since 2002 but remains a die-hard Boston sports fan and is an avid golfer.
