Profile

Prior to joining Blackstone, Dr. Fields was Co-Head of the Structured Products Group at CSFB in New York.
Prior to the merger of DLJ and CSFB he had co-headed the group at DLJ, which he joined in 1998 from Citigroup.
He began his career practicing law at the IRS and Skadden Arps.
In addition to his investment banking experience, He served as Director of Professional Staff for the President’s Bipartisan Commission on Entitlement and Tax Reform (1994), on the Tax Legislative Counsel of the U.S.
Treasury Department (1992–1993), as Acting Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy for the U.S.
Treasury Department, and as Technical Assistant to the Chief Counsel of the IRS (1985).
Dr. Fields received a JD and a PhD in Economics from Stanford University and an AB from Wesleyan University.
