The firm is an investment management division of Capital One N.A. and their ultimate parent is Capital One Financial Corp. (NYSE: COF). They were formerly known as Hibernia Asset Management LLC and were a subsidiary of Hibernia National Bank. COAM's only client is Capital One, N.A. The firm advises Capital One N.A. in managing the assets the bank holds as a fiduciary in its trust and investment management accounts. COAM’s services to the bank include investment policy and asset allocation advice, as well as managing financial asset portfolios. Capital One N.A.'s clients include individuals, banks or thrift institutions, corporations, retirement plans, endowments, foundations, municipalities or other public/government entities, charitable and non-profit organizations, and trusts and estates.
